Just an update of where I'm at with all this at the moment.

We are just beginning to produce our storyboards and create questionnaires.

We will also need to do our risk assesment of our locations and confirm actors before beginning filming for our film opening.

Completed Preliminary Task

Our Preliminary task is a simple short video showing someone walking through a door, walking into a room, sitting down and having a conversation. This showed that we could demonstrated simlple filming rules.

When filming our Preliminary task, i found we had no problems and filmed everything needed to make our preliminary task what it needed to be. However, when it came to editing i did struggle as i had never used a Mac Book to edit before so it was very fiddly and took more time to edit than it did to film.

Overall, i am pleased with our preliminary task, although the editing is not perfect and there are a few jumpy moments in there i feel my group did a good job for a first attempt. It helped us begin to get used to the editing equipment and prepare us for what we are going to have to do for our final film opening production.

Ideas for the Plot

The beginning of the video should feature home videos of our actors when they were little kids. Then it will flick to the scene with them sleeping rough, and keep flicking flicking between the home videos and the teenagers at present. This will show them as happy innocent little children and then will show them as young teenagers running away from home.

Possible Sound Tracks

This seems to be a suitable sound track for the beginning of our film because it helps set the mood. The song starts slow and speeds us which compliments what is happening in the film as the teenagers are first shown sleeping rough and running away.

This is one of the locations for our film to be placed in, our ideas of locations were, an old derilict building, a deserted park/forest area, and a dual carriageway.

Titanic is my final similar product as it also portrays forbidden love.

We chose Romeo must die as our second Similar product as it has the same theme as our film with forbidden love.

We have picked Romeo and Juliet as a similar Film Product as the plot is quite similar to our film. As Romeo and Juliet are madly in love just like the teenage lovers in our film.

Opening of a Film - Idea

For this assignment i have formed a group with Soriah Lewin. In this assignment we are to create the opening of a film with a genre of our choice. The genre we have decided to with for our film opening is the idea of a dramatic romance genre. The plot of of the opening is two teenage lovers who have decided to run away from home, because neither of their family or friends will accept that they are in love. The film will show them running to different locations trying to find somewhere to stay. We made a decision to name our film, 'Runaway Love' as it fits in with what is going to be going on in it and also there is a song by Ludacris and Mary J Blidge to do with Running away which we think will fit in nicely.
